Human Resources Officer

Salary: £34,671.00 – £36,401.00 per annum Grade 9
Location: Beeston Nottinghamshire

An opportunity has arisen within our HR department to provide a comprehensive and pro-active generalist HR advisory service to managers and employees.

 

Broxtowe Borough Council has around 650 employees, which includes a wholly-owned Leisure company and the HR team deal with all employment-related matters from recruitment to retirement and everything in-between. This opportunity will enable the right candidate to assist with the delivery of a progressive Human Resources support in a large organisation that serves the public.

 

You’ll be expected to manage a caseload and portfolio of work and assist Managers and employees with comprehensive HR advice on a daily basis. You’ll be working alongside the HR & Apprenticeships Officer and Learning & Development Administrator, and would report to the HR Manager, assisting with the day-to-day service provision to our internal departments.

 

The role will take a lead on wellbeing, equality, diversity and neurodiversity programmes including supporting the Council’s continued development of it’s Disability Confident Leader status and Mental Health activities.

 

This would be a great opportunity for someone wanting to develop their HR career, wanting to gain more experience in generalist HR or is CIPD qualified.

 

We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:

Generalist Human Resources support
Local Government HR
Dealing with personnel matters such as disciplinary, sickness, capability and grievance
Mental Health and wellbeing
Working positively with Trade Unions
A HR qualification such as CIPD
Dealing with potentially stressful and sensitive situations
Using Microsoft packages such as Teams, Word, Outlook and Excel

What you need to know:

·       Working hours are 37 per week, with normal office hours being Monday to Friday, 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (4.30 p.m. on Fridays).

·       Hybrid working will be available, however there will be an expectation to be able to attend the office and other sites across the borough each week. During the initial six-month probation period, there will be an expectation to attend the office more often for training and development purposes.

·       Access to a vehicle essential.
