Assistant Commissioning Manager (D2N2)

The Commissioning Team has an exciting opportunity for a full time Assistant Commissioning Manager (D2N2) post offered on a permanent basis. 

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that helps improve the lives of children, young people and their families across Derbyshire, and it’s neighbouring councils of Nottingham City, Derby City and Nottinghamshire (known collectively as D2N2). 

The Commissioning Team works with a whole host of departments across Children’s Services to help design services, source external providers and monitor the quality, effectiveness and cost of those services.  This role will be pivotal in delivering this, across the D2N2 footprint.

The role will specifically contribute to the successful sourcing and effective delivery of children in care placements, across the D2N2 footprint. Utilising a wide range of skills you will be involved in liaising with internal (D2N2) and external stakeholders, logging and monitoring information in relation to child placements, their quality and focus on improving sufficiency and relationships within this sector across the D2N2 footprint.

One of the main functions of this rewarding role will be integral in helping to provide a positive impact on the lives of children in care. You will work with Social Care and the wider support network to increase sufficiency and improve quality for local children, ensuring all work delivered supports the vision of the D2N2 framework of ‘Right placement; right location; right time; right price’.

You will have oversight of the D2N2 Framework and engage with providers to support the vision and build effective relationships. You will also work alongside other team members to help contribute to the monitoring of those services and chart the success of individual child outcomes. 

The role requires an emphasis on communication skills, effective relationship building, innovation, accuracy and attention to detail, organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and an understanding of systems used for recording information such as Mosaic and Excel Spreadsheets.
