As Deputy Headteacher, you will play an important role in shaping the culture of our school, working closely with the Headteacher, other Senior Leaders and The Governing Body to secure the highest possible outcomes for all our pupils. This role is both challenging and highly rewarding.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a skilled junior teacher who really enjoys teaching and preparing children for their next secondary chapter.
- Be positive and proactive about teaching Year 6 to the highest standard.
- Have a proven track record of securing strong outcomes of achievement and progress with junior children.
- Have a broad experience in safeguarding children.
- Have led change and improvements in a primary setting and made a lasting impact.
- Have strong organisational skills.
- Work well under pressure.
- Be highly skilled, kind and experienced in all aspects of behaviour management.
- Be an excellent communicator and be able to build relationships within the school and its wider community.
- Have strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
- Be committed to high standards and expectations for all.
- Exemplify and actively support the school’s values, ethos, and strategic priorities.
- Lead and inspire staff and pupils.
- Exemplify a high level of effective practice through a teaching commitment of approximately 0.7FTE.
- Contribute to curriculum development and innovation.
- Drive improvements in teaching and learning.
- Support and mentor staff to deliver high-quality teaching and implement best practices across the curriculum.
- Act as a staff performance management lead.
About You
We are looking for an outstanding leader who:
- Has a higher level leadership qualification such as a Masters, NPQ or SEND qualification.
- Will be committed to helping every child in school achieve their best outcomes.
- Has proven experience in middle or senior leadership within a school setting.
- Is passionate about delivering the highest quality of teaching and learning across the school.
- Is committed to inclusion and securing excellent outcomes for all pupils.
- Values and promotes the well-being of all staff.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Is committed to promoting a nurturing, inclusive and positive environment for all children and staff.
- Possesses a strong logistical understanding of the operational needs of a school such as staff deployment and timetabling.
- Has a positive and can do approach to all aspects of school life.
- Is able to further develop a culture where everyone’s contribution is valued and individuals are encouraged to succeed.
- Has an excellent knowledge of the primary curriculum.
